Sub-committees

Most of the detailed work happens in sub-committees rather than at the full Management Committee. Each reports back, and each includes the Chair or Vice-Chair of the Association.

Members of a sub-committee who do not sit on the Management Committee do not vote on it. The exceptions are the Chairs of the Planning Advisory Committee and of the Communications and Policy Sub-Committee.

Planning

There is no longer a Planning Advisory Committee. Planning matters, including Building Works Agreements and Deeds, Easements and Wayleaves, are handled by a single Planning Lead, using the Village Design Statement as the basis for comment on applications and on local planning policy.

Infrastructure

Coordinates maintenance of the roads, drains, verges and twittens, working with the Road Representatives, and reports to the Management Committee with cost estimates for budgeting.

Coastal

Monitors erosion and liaises with Arun District Council and the Environment Agency on sea defences.

Greensward

Looks after the Greensward and, jointly with Middleton on Sea Beach Huts Ltd, organises the beach clean.

Communications and Policy

Newsletters, the website and Association policy.
