More progress on Sea Lane

Sea Lane is a public road, looked after by West Sussex County Council rather than by MOSA. It is also our front door, and we know its condition frustrates many of you. It frustrates us too.

Beyond the gas works, there is good news. Wendy and Kevin recently walked the lane with the council’s highways officer and our county councillor. Here is what came of it.

The verge and bank on the bend. It is owned by the developer at 7 and 9 Sea Lane, who wants to improve its look subject to agreement with the county council.

The blocked gullies. These are on the council’s cleaning schedule.

The Highway Rangers are back. The council has brought back its Highway Rangers, who deal with overhanging growth, blocked drains and small repairs on public roads.

Who looks after what

MOSA looks after the private roads of the estate, the Greensward, the twittens and the roundabouts. Sea Lane itself, and Middleton Road, belong to West Sussex County Council. We will keep pressing the council on your behalf, and we will tell you what we hear.
